Hi gang,
Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm where it’s cold and cool where it’s not. And if you are somewhere warm consider me extremely jealous. 🙂
Thanks to everyone who came out to our show in Cambridge last month at the Middle East. It was a great time and I’m working on getting us back there.
Our show with Davy Knowles was a barnstormer. Davy’s audience is our kind of crowd: music loving fools!
You can see a clip of us performing the Dire Straits tune, “Southbound Again” at that show right here,
Our next shows are two that I’ve been looking forward to playing for some time. On Saturday, 2/11 we’ll be heading back to my old stomping ground, Tiverton, Rhode Island, to play at one of the best new venues in the area. Sandywoods Center For The Arts is quickly becoming a go to for a more “listening room” type vibe. Music lovers rejoice!
The Fall River Herald News (which we always got delivered to our door growing up) printed a great piece on the band and the show. You can read the whole thing here.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. You can still pick up tickets as of this writing by going here.
You can head over to our Facebook event page right here and join and/or share it. We’d just love you for it!
This will be our first time playing Sandywoods and we’re really hoping to get some folks in the door to ensure our return. We’ll be playing from 7:30 to around 9:15 or so (doors are at 7pm) and we’ll be debuting two brand new tunes! So you don’t want to miss this special show. It’s BYOB and you can bring your own food. It’s all ages and should prove to be a heck of a time.
Then, in two weeks we’re excited to be sandwiched between to amazing bands when we play at Luthier’s Co-op in Easthampton on Friday, February 24.
The night starts out with our friend, Rick Murnane’s debut performance of his new trio, The Town Council. They will be kicking things off at 7pm. Fans of Group Deville and Rick’s early work with The Bluescasters will be thrilled with the new band featuring Fred Goodhue and Nick Dines (original GDV members) playing an hour of original bluesy pop.
Colorway plays at 8pm until around 9:25 or so. We’ll kick it with some classics, a Drunk Stuntmen tune or two and the aforementioned brand new songs.
Finally, leave your dancing shoes on for the 9:30-? slot when Luke Jaeger’s funky dance ensemble, The Soul Magnets hit the Luthier’s stage. Featuring a who’s who of valley notables, including Kallis Smith, Dave Trenholm and (original Colorway drummer) J.J. O’Connell, just to name a few. The Magnet’s will be sure to keep the joint jumping well into the night.
Not only is this an amazing night of music just on it’s own, but the show is free (tips appreciated) and it’s all ages as well. Space is limited at Luthier’s so be sure to get there early to carve out your space in one of the best rooms in the valley to see live music.
Well, that about covers it. We’re booking some great shows for the spring and summer (and fall!) and I’ll tell you all more about that as the time comes near.
As always, if you know someone who might enjoy what we do please be a pal and share us with them. It’s always great to make new fans and share what we do with others. It’s why we are here and it’s what gets me out of bed on many a cold morning.
So thanks for being you and thanks for digging what we do. We’ll keep rocking as long as we can.
See you at the shows!
~Alex J
And remember, you can always go to www.colorwaymusic.com for more info on any of this, to see a cool pic of Davy Knolwles and me (in the “Out And About” photo album) and for all the rest of it.
