Hi gang,
Wanted to first of all thank everyone who came out to the last two weeks of shows. We have had some amazing musical experiences together and I’m so happy to share it with all the new fans and the folks who have been with us since the beginning.
Speaking of being with us since the beginning, my old friend, Julian Parker Burns (who is an amazing collage artist as well as photographer) was at our Luthier’s Co-oop show last month and took some great photos of us (scroll to the more recent pics) as well as a video for Come Back July. Check that out right here.
We had an awesome time at The Eclectic in Willimantic, CT playing with one of my new favorite bands, The Silks (from Providence, RI). Check them out and pick up their new record, Turn Me On. It’s pretty great.
And now that July has come and gone and it’s been two years since I wrote the tune in the waning hours of 7/31/14 I thought it would be fun to release the demo I made that night. You can listen to that right here. It was thrilling for me to write and record it that night and I think it shows in the demo (that’s me playing guitar, bass and singing). Enjoy.
So this Thursday, 8/4 (or tomorrow, depending on when you open this email) we will be heading east to Wellfleet, MA on Cape Cod and plan to lay it all on the line at the infamous, Beachcomber. The Comah (as it’s lovingly called by some) was a favorite haunt of Drunk Stuntmen back in the day. We had some amazing shows there and you really can’t beat a club that overlooks the ocean and has tasty seafood, too. You also can’t be the fact that opening this show is the always unbelievably jaw dropping, Mammal Dap. These four guys play some of the most unreal original, instrumental, jazz/rock/fusion/EDM music I have ever heard. If you are planning on going to this show make sure not to be late. Mammal Dap plays at 10:15. They will change you, I promise.
Check out the Comah’s live webcams here. Looks like they even have a “stage cam” so if you can’t make it to the show you can at least see who’s breaking the sound barrier on the stage.
Next up, next Thursday, 8/11 Colorway will head to Springfield, MA to play Plan B Burger Bar. This very cool and very spacious establishment is located in the Basketball Hall of Fame plaza and there is plenty of parking. This show is free and all ages! If you are heading to see Max Creek play at the Stearns Square Concert Series why not make a stop in afterwards. They start at 7pm and should be done around 10pm. We go on around 9pm. So it could be a win/win! And Plan B’s kitchen is open until 1am for the hungry ones among us.
As usual, I don’t want to overload anyone with info so I’ll post again after next week’s shows with an update on what’s next. But you can check out all the details on all our shows anytime at our Tour Dates page (including some info on who we are doing this year for Transperformance!).
Thanks again and hope to see you out there!!
Rock on and be good to yourselves and those around you.
Warmly,
~FAJ

Mammal Dap is adventurous, instrumental rock fusion based in Northampton, Massachusetts. The band is comprised of Killian Karlsson (guitar), Zack Cross (keys), Reed Sutherland (bass, synth bass), and Colin Jalbert (drums, samples). Together, the four mammals combine elements of rock, EDM, hip-hop, and funk to create a sound that is forward-thinking yet nostalgic, indescribable but strangely familiar. Their energetic live shows and rigorous touring have elevated crowds from New England to New Orleans, leading them to share the stage with acclaimed bands such as The Nth Power, Tauk, Marco Benevento, Toubab Krewe and many more.
