Vote for Colorway in the Grand Band Slam! Also, Two Man Guy in Sturbridge!

Hi all,

Wanted to send a quick thank you to everybody who wrote in to nominate Colorway for the Valley Advocate’s Grand Band Slam. You did it! We are in the running!!

Now it’s time to vote. You can go to the GBS home page here and vote for us, easy peasy. If we get enough votes it’s on to the performance round where the real fun begins. Vote early and vote often and send it to all your friends who might want to support us. And any way it pans out we’re happy that enough people wrote in to get us in to the next round. So thank you!

You can hear all 25 bands included in the contest here.

Also, myself and Scott Hall (keyboardist extraodinaire for Drunk Stuntmen and others) have a show at the Hyland Orchard and Brewery in Sturbridge, MA on Sunday, July 19 from 1-5. We call ourselves Two Man Guy and fun is what we have in a duo setting.

Check out 2MG playing “We Move On” from the WW2 Club a while back.

The show is free and fun and there’s great beer and soft drinks, a petting zoo and disc golf. And the best barbecue in the northeast is right down the street (BT’s Smokehouse). So pack the kids and the cooler and head on over. You can read about that show as well as all our upcoming dates here.

Thanks for reading this and for supporting live local music worldwide.

And on we go . . .

PS:

Remember, the new album is available at www.colorwaymusic.com on CD and 180gram vinyl, as well as at www.colorway.bandcamp.com for the digital download. But you can also pick it up an any one of these great Valley establishments. Support your local musician and support you local music store.

Two free June dates and Grand Band Slam!

Hi all,

As we swing into the warmer months it’s time for some outdoor shows!

Next Thursday, June 18 from 6:30-7:30 we are thrilled to be playing at the Taste Of Amherst again.

Come sample some of the best food Amherst has to offer and then lay down a blanket and enjoy some great music on  the main stage.

The full music lineup for the event which runs Thursday, June 18 to Sunday, June 20 is here and we want to thank 93.9 WRSI for asking us to come back again. Colorway will perform on Thursday, June 18 from 6:30 to 7:30 and then our buddies Trailer Park play from 8 until 9. Look for special guests from said closing band to be joining us somewhere in our set.

This show is absolutely free!

Don’t put those chairs and blankets too far away because one week later, on Thursday, June 25, Colorway will be making their debut performance in Florence Center at the Music on the Porch Series.

Every summer the Silk City is proud to feature some of the best and brightest local acts right in the center of town on the lawn in front of the civic center (in case of rain the show is moved across the street to the VFW).

Colorway will play from 6:30-8:00 with a brief intermission.

Special thanks to Priscilla Ross and the Florence Civic and Business Association.

Popcorn and drinks are available but coolers are always welcome.

Join Colorway’s Facebook event here.

This show, as well, is absolutely free!!

Special note: legendary Valley drummer, Brian Marchese will be joining us for both of these June shows! Brian plays currently with The Fawns, Sitting Next To Brian and Gentle Hen and once held the drum throne atop the rock mountain that was Al Johnson and The Spoils.

Finally, this year the Valley Advocate has resurrected it’s “best-of” music campaign, The Grand Band Slam. If you feel like nominating Colorway to be in the running please go to their website and put our info in.

Here is the link.

All you need to do is write in “Colorway” and then our web address which is www.colorwaymusic.com. Then your email and name and that’s it! If we get enough votes to become nominated it moves on to the next round of voting all leading up to a big ol’ rumble at One Bar in Northampton on September 12 (but let’s not think too much about the fall, shall we?).

Thanks so much for reading this email and for supporting us. We’re really looking forward to these shows in June and beyond. You can see all the details on all the shows here.

Think sun, love and rock and roll and we’ll do the rest.

And on we go . . .

NYC Music Blog Diffuser Premiers “Come Back July” Video

On Thursday, May 7 the arts and culture blog Diffuser out of NYC said they were “beyond thrilled” to premiere our new video for “Come Back July” and we have to admit it feels pretty damn good.

Diffuser writer Chuck Armstrong said, of the song, “Come Back July” serves as the LP’s lead single, and is a perfect representation of the band’s ability to craft an impossibly catchy pop-rock tune.”

Happy to have teamed up with Tom Adams from Reelife Productions for this vid. It features locations that will be familiar with many in the Pioneer Valley.

You can watch it below. Check out our video page for live vids, clips from the studio and more.

Check out all Diffuser has to offer here.
